well as all of you know i am the man with the hi compression fully built ls putting 152.9whp and 124.9 tq. i am considering putting a gsr head on my block. will i put down more power by using the vtec head? i have aftermarket pistons, rods, and studs with 10.5:1 cr. WOULD I HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THE BOTTOM END? i got a deal from a friend that is willing to sell a complete 94 gsr head w/everything for 250.00

You should definitely think about a block girdle. All B18 Vtecs come with them to help butress the bottom end, but Non Vtec's do not have them

If you go with a stock one or after market one, you will need to get New (longer) Main bearing bolts, and a Vtec oil pan and oil pickup.

It seems like that is the only missing Bottom end area you have not addessed- since you have beefed up the rods.

Seriously calculate the Static CR you will be looking at as well, since the combustion chambers on the GSR head are much smaller.
