air does not get sucked in through your FMIC, it is sucked in through the filter. so hydrolock all depends on where your air filter is located, if water is high enough to reach your filter than hydrolock will likely occur.


think of short ram intakes vs. cold air intakes. the short rams air filter is located in the same location as stock, the cold air intake's filter is located very low in the right front section of the bumper. CAI's suck in water more commonly due to that simple factor of filter location.

front mount intercooler is like your radiator...it cools the air from your turbo down because the turbo compresses air and therefore temperature of the air raises, the intercooler works through conduction of the air of the atmosphere blowing by/through the intercooler (heat is transferred from the metal on the FMIC to the air), water will help if anything because water is a better conductor than air
