the plastic sheilds inside my fender well are all falling apart, I want to just rip them out, is there any reason i should leave them in? such as extra road noise, water geting were it shouldnt? or anything else im not thinking of.
Not a thing if your on stock suspension. If your low it sort of protects the tire from scraping the sharp point of the fender. A big problem with the weather strip is water getting stuck inside it, leading to a formation of rust. I personally would take them out. not important and they look pretty funky.
I think he is talking about the splash guard at the inner fender. You probably get a little more road noise and the water will fly all over. Rock chips the frame metal then with water it will rust over time. Better fix it if you can.
The fender liners keeps rocks and small objects that are kicked up from the tire away from the metal fender. IT protects it by blocking the object from denting the fender. If you catch a small rock and it kicks up in to the fender when you don;t have a liner it will cause a dent. You will have all these little dents the bump outwards from all the rocks and stuff you catch on the highways.
If you need I sell used fender liners for 50.00 + shipping for a set.
Dealers want 125.00 + tax for a set.
