I need help. I have a 2000 GS with intake, headers, catback exhaust and lowered with VIS coilovers. I was going to buy a Jackson Racing Supercharger, but it wouldnt add as much hp as I thought or wanted. Im mad at my self for not getting a GSR, I wish I would have. So now im thinking of getting a GSR engine, then turbocharging or supercharging it. But i heard you can fit a B20 in an integra. Im confused A CRV has a B20 but so does a Honda S2000. Can i put the 240hp Honda S200 engine in my car? Please help me

whats wrong with informing a new member of a way to learn large amounts of information that were written carefully and spent large amounts of time on so that others can learn. you can learn more in reading the artilces in one day than many people learn ever.
try reading the articles.
oh and if you have a b18b1 and want more power than going n/a then a turbo would be your best bet. better than turboing a b18c1 because of the ls's longer gearing.

I gotta agree with this...slap a turbo on...and like hoot said, read the articles, they help out a lot. People spent a lot of time writing them, I'd be mad if someone didn't read something I wrote, hehe.

If you want power. Buy a turbo. Tune it properly. Laugh at those who still think you're driving a 120 whp car as your turbo spools up and you rocket off into the sunset jamming the song of your choice. If you're still not happy with a "meager" 200+ whp beast.......Sell car. Find means to buy a Lotus, Diablo or other exotic car for a "meager" $100,000+ dollars.

The B20 from the CRV and the B18B from the GS are physically the same size. I think the intake manifold is different. The B20 has a larger bore(84mm) and the B18B has 81mm bore. Both have the same stroke(89mm).

Pop Quiz: See why the B20 has more displacement?

Question is worth 75% of your final grade.

Damn finals, arg...

Well thx for all that info. So is it possible to fit the honda s2000 engine in my integra without to many drastic changes. And if not would it be worth the money to buy a gsr engine and turbo that or should i just turbo the normal engine in my gs.

way drastic changes...it spins in the opposite direction, the tranny & engine mounts are way different, it's huge....you have to use the tranny and change the whole driveline...you might as well buy an S2000 for the money you would be spending....

that's why I put: doh! slaps forehead, shakes head, etc.

forget it and get back to reality....

OK well then, would it make since to buy a gsr engine and turbo it or should i just turbo the normal engine i have now. How much of a difference would it make? or is their anyother engine swaps i could do for a big boost in hp?

if you are stuck on turboing then it makes much more sense to go b18b1 because like i said earlier it has longer gearing than the b18c1. its just a better engine to turbo. or you could swap the b18c1 and go n/a or supercharge. or you could swap a b18c5 and go n/a. or you could swap a b20. or you could do lsvtec. or you could swap in an h22. there are many different comnonaionts and options.

I answered your PM drake. check it out.

for the record, and everyone else's benefit, the reason I hammered him was because he was being impractical. It's not even close to being realistic to pop a counter rotating S2000 engine for a RWD car in a FWD car with different mounts and the tranny to the passenger side spinning the opposite direction. Secondly, he could make more power than I could ever dream of by using a properly sized and tuned prepackaged turbo kit (like Drag Gen. 3 or Revhard or Fmax) on his current car. His current car is a nice car. Why complain about something which you have not even researched about in terms of FI potential? Why buy a GSR and then turbo it when you can just turbo the current one you have which has better tranny gearing for a turbo in terms of traction?

You'll want to check out Gvtec's FI articles and read up on how to size your turbo, the wastegate, the intercooler, and exhaust to minimize lag and optimize useable power.

cheers

Thanks for the help. And to answer T94ls I am not set on anything, I just want to check out all the possibilitys. Also Hootb18 said alot of things i could do, but i was wondering what all of you thought whould be the fastest, and what the costs and advantages and disadvantages whould be to those ideas. Their was also a dyno testing of a b20vtec that has 231.5 hp. That seems like alot is that something I could put in my car fairly easy.

B20/vtec is a whole nother realm of pain ;)

Like everyone has said, if you are that consintrated on power go with a turbo.

The B20/vtec is a hybrid engine, done by using the bottom end of the B20 and head of a vtec engine (often the B16). Its even more expensive, more work, and harder to have installed and put together correctly.

if i had my two choices of both. i would go b18c5 n/a. this would be my choice if money was not an option. otherwise i would go b18c1 jsrc. basically the setup gvtec has. i drool over that car. i mean i drool over the pictures. that would be the more practical option. you also need to look at how your going to drive it. drag, autox, track, etc. etc. theres so many factors you have to take into effect when you are looking at making large amounts of power.

OK. NOW you can tell him to "Go read the articles". Hopefully, he understands that the answer is not simple. He really has to decide where he wants to end up before he decides what he will do. Then he has to decide how much money he is willing to spend to get there.

nothing is fairly ez as you will find out soon enough my young Padawan learner.

if you don't even know what to get or how to tune it, you have a long road ahead.
