Anyone know a place that will steam clean the engine bay? and the underbody of the car? when i was a student at Santamonica auto shop we had access to lifts and steam power washers. but not anymore cause im not a student and they shut down the auto program

i have had nothing but bad luck from steam cleans. Just spend a little extra time and clean eveyrthing by hand and be safe

All you need to do is pick up a can of black magic engine bay cleaner. I just used it for my first time and I couldnt believe how clean my motor came out, I didnt even need a pressure washer. Check it out they sell it at autozone

^arent they kinda hard to use since you have to cover all of the electrical wiring?

is one can enough for that? is blasting it water from a garden hose safe on the engine? i did that to my old car a 95' mazda 626 and the ecu shorted out and the auto tranny solenoid too. it cost me 2500 bucks to have it fixed that's why i'm scared to do that to my teg.

Just cover the distributer and spray away. I've done it 3 times and my car still works fine. Just make sure to let it completely try off.

so do i do it when the engine is running or not? my mazda's engine was running when i did that and after a while there was smoke and i smelled something burning.
