dishonest eBay sellers

I purchased a pair of 98~01 headlights off eBay for my conversion with decent price of $126 shipped. Today, I received the package and I got mad. Driver side headlights tap was broken due to poor packing and the worst part is there is a 2 inches big hole at the bottom of the headlights (not damage from shipping). I quickly go back to the auction page and carefully look at the description. The seller didn't mention ANYTHING about the damage, and was described "in very good condition". how can someone describe this a very good condition? passenger side looks clean, BUT the problem is it's NOT OEM. It's an aftermarket made-in-taiwan brand. look at the pics.

picture of the damage and broken tap.

I also received the OEM 94~97 stock tail lights today from different seller. When I open the package I found out one of the lights was crack and the corner was broken. Again, the seller described as "in very good condition" and didn't mention about the damage.

I didn't purchase car parts from eBay for long time. Recently, I'd like to do the 98~01 conversion and decide to change my car back to stock looks. The first two purchase I made have problem. Why sellers not honestly describe real condition of the item? I am so mad now.

ask questions, check feedback

sorry you had to learn the hard way

try and return it and see if that gets you anywhere
Yea .. I'd be really pissed! ..

First off .. Call him out on this and let him know he lied in the aucion description. Thats bullshit man. and give him REALLY NEGATIVE feedback so no one else gets dooped ..

.. Did you pay with a debit/credit card?
You don't just bid, you have to ask questions. Is there anything wrong with it?? Is anything broken?? U know, learn from your mistakes.
send the seller emails stating what was wrong, sometimes you get lucky and will solve it out for you!!!! maybe ask the seller why wasnt it mentioned? all the advice i can give to you, maybe go ahead and file a case through ebay stating your problem!
I remember when ebay use to be a honest place with honest people. Now they have huge "powersellers" that sell nothing but cheap crap, and if they dont have what you want the rest are mostly people like you described... crapy packaging and **** they describe as "perfect condition."
A honest ebayer is a dying breed.
Wow those headlights are in really bad shape. Wasn't there a picture of the item during the auction?
happend to me on a ps2 so its a little different but talk to ebay and report him about it i did and i got my money back
I paid with PayPal and the bid was placed very last second. Didn't have chance to ask questions. I send him email about the problem as soon as I found out the item was not as described. I ask him for partial refund. So far he still haven't response me yet. not only he dishonest to me, look at his feedbacks.

his feedbacks

all the neg feedbacks were posted after I made purchase and paid.

Can you see the pictures? There's alot of damage.

-As stated above try and file a claim. Someone tried to sell me defective goods on Ebay not to long ago. I ended with the goods and my money.
i wouldnt have paid 100 bux for them just from the pix. why did you not look in here in the buy/ sell/ trade forum first? so many people are selling...
How could you tell it's not OEM? It looks like it to me.
More the likely you're stuck with the junk. Ive had problems on ebay before and you will not come to a resolution. I myself have a feedback of 280+ all positive and try to conduct myself like a buisnessman. But you do get these huge companies and sometimes kids selling junk and you SOL. The last transaction I did some guy scammed a bunch of people around xmas and he received 9 negative feedback posts in a row and his account is still active. I don't know how people can do this type of crap and feel good about themselves.

driver side is OEM and dmage. but the passenger side is NOT OEM.
ebay does cover purchases up to $125. report it to ebay and payal and see what happens. i got back $125 once for a jersey i bought on ebay and never recieved. first try communicating with the seller, if not, go through ebay and paypal.
thanks, I just filed a claim with PayPal. Hope I got my money back, or partial money back.
well based on my experiences, i bought books to car parts from ebay and no complains so far *knock on wood*... you just have to be careful from who you buy it from especially those people that only wants money order for payment, i prefer paying through paypal... sorry to hear that bro, GL... hope you resolve everything...
dude just call ure credit card/debit card and dispute the charge...i bought a full body kit online for like 500 bucks and when i got it was crap so i called and disputed the charge. They take care of it for u as long as u report that what you received was crap. I got all of my money back and the company had to pay to have it shipped back. They will go after the responsible parties. But definitley report it to ebay and paypal too. The more reports the better...honeslty.
