So I wnat a diagnostic scan tool tah I can hook up to my laptop so I can scan the teg every now and then and not have to bring it to the shop to find out why my check engine light is on...anyone have any suggestions of a good diagnostic scan tool that I could pick up for that not expensive? I found one at vivid racing...something like this:

hello, i have an actron obd2 scanner, was like 150, that does all the same things ur looking to do. got it at advancedauto. they usually have a loaner they will let you use. and you really only need it for a few mins of use anyway. also there is this thread for you to check ur ecu codes for free. using the system honda designed.

i am having a problem scanning my jdm type R computer... is that because the computer is foreign or just a bad connection? it is saying "link error"
