To make a long story short, my shift light is busted.

If you drive over the set rpm, the light will stay on. I had it set at 3500rpm and was driving 80mph on the highway in 5th. The light stayed on for about 30 min. When I got off the highway and slowed down, the shift light wouldn't turn off. Finally, I unplugged the fuse. The plastic yellow piece and the inner circuitry melted. Now I'm out $65 after a couple days of use.

I had no idea that this would happen. I didn't realize that it could overheat and bust itself. This is the kind of info that needs to be added to StyleTeg's article on shift lights.

Anyway, that's my story.
