Ok, I finally got the vacuum hose routing diagram and I can see where everything goes but what the hell is a dashpot? and the dashpot check valve? And what the heck do they do? I need to know cause I know I don't have either and this could be a resolution to my cars troubles. Can anyone help me, asap!!!!!!!!!!! Please!!!!!!!!!

right side of intake manifold is a dashpot it is golden kinda colored with a hose attached on top of it...oh and a check valve is when you only want air going one way, it wants to get vacuum(spl) and not boost or vise versa. if ya ya got that???.....sorta like it lets air through one way but not the other....
i dunno exactly what a dashpot is though???

I think that it lets your throttle valve close a little bit slower when you let up off the gas so the engine does not stall out as it is returning to idle.

Big yellow circle = dashpot
Small yellow circle = dashpot check valve
The DCV should say "<- VLV OPEN" on it
