So, the integra did an interesting thing. One, it is STILL throwing a P0441 code. I bought a new vacuum gauge to complete the testing of the system. Its driving me insane, luckily it stayed off long enough to pass inspections.

The next one is interesting. So, the ABS light has been on in this car since like 2006 or 2007. I can't recall what the specific code was at the moment, but it involved the actual pump itself. When I bought the car back in 2014, the light was still on so I bought a new to me abs pump. Swapped it out, light stayed on. But, now the system was trying pressurize and it was nearly causing accidents randomly. So I pulled the relay so the system would stop trying to pressurize. I decided over the weekend to put the relay back in and pull the code so I know what kind of winter work I have ahead of me this winter. Put the relay back in, and MAGIC. Light goes out, and I now have a functioning ABS system. I love when the car fixes itself, I wish it would do it more often.

Late to updating, but I took the family and the teg to a small cars and coffee in Pittsburgh. I really like these types of events, you get to see a lot of interesting things and meet some cool car people (without worrying about an intersection being taken over LOL). I didnt grab a single picture of my car there, but a few others did. Fair warning, most of these are horrible pictures because I was trying to keep an eye on a 3 and 5 year old.

First, i loved the setup they had for coffee.

My kids thought this truck was awesome, until it started up and sounded like it had a seriously cammed motor and straight pipes. Then they were afraid of it lol.

There were also some really unique rides there.

This was an unexpected gem to see

These two were probably my favorite though:

And the pictures of my car taken by other people at the event

If you zoom in on the last one, you can see Enzo in the back seat starting at the guy taking the photo LOL. I'm not sure how i'm not in this picture, this is just as we were leaving, probably less than a minute before i closed the hood to take off.

So, the car is away for the winter. I have quite a few things to inspect / repair if necessary, but I also have the fun stuff to add to the car this winter. When I look at the list, I start to wonder if winter is going to be long enough lol.

Last time out in the car.

I also made a purchase in July I finally went to pick up. So, some of the sheet metal work that I did on the car has absolutely bothered the crap out of me, some people dont notice but I notice everytime I walk to the car. Also, my doors are trashed, absolutely trashed. They are rotted at the seams on all four doors, I wanted to replace them before I did the paint work a couple of years ago, but nothing I could track down was in any better shape than what I had. So, after realizing that these parts aren't going to get any cheaper, or any easier to find, I pulled the trigger on some parts to remedy all of this. I won't work on these parts of the car for a few years yet, I'm still in the enjoyment phase of the car, these will be part of the final "perfection" part of the restoration. I'm kind of mad at myself for not waiting to find something better than what I had to work with, or maybe slowing down a bit with the sheet metal work, but live and learn.

Totally rust free quarters and doors! And this time around I won't booger up my welding and warp the panels to hell and back lol.
That's an awesome score! Can't imagine there's a whole lot of those out there for doors.

Thats exactly why i picked them up. I had some extra $$$ from selling some parts, these popped up from JDM Ohio direct, so I figured they won't be any easier to find or any cheaper than they are now so I pulled the trigger LOL. Once i get the upstairs of my garage a little more organized, i'll store them a little better.

i'm glad you posted in here, it reminded me that i have some other updates to post up!

I think its time for some updates!

So, i've decided to cut open my evap canister to see why i'm not getting proper flow and forever throwing a check engine light. The filters are so clogged, I'm not surprised. So, i'm going to attempt to rebuild this thing per a DIY i saw on team integra. Fingers crossed it works...

messy messy messy.

And, i tore down the blower for the supercharger to make sure there was nothing scary in there. Jim from MVM put a second set of eyes on it for my peace of mind! LOL. Also, Jim came through with the remaining pieces I needed for my setup and he inspected and tested my new to me injectors to make sure they were as they should be. Can't say enough good things about Jim!

Supercharger oil should be here tomorrow, in the meantime I can reassemble the blower and get it ready for the new fluid. This weekend starts the tear down of the car to get ready for the supercharger install. Here is my plan. Install the supercharger with the factory fuel pump, ECU, injectors, etc.. still in the car. Fire it up and let it run at idle and maybe SLIGHT blips of throttle just to verify there are no odd noises coming from the setup. If all is well, then install the new fuel ump, injectors, and S300. Then, move on to some other maintenance items. I bought new valve seals for some extra peace of mind. And since I will need to tear down a good bit of the top end to install these, I plan to install the GSR intake cam back into the car and leave the ITR cam in the exhaust. I found a lot of information regarding this setup from back in the day, and the theory makes sense. The charger doesn't like more than stock cams, but at some point it seems like air going out of the car will be more important than air coming in = the need for the slightly more aggressive cam. Honestly, I was going to leave in the ITR cams, but since i need to remove the cams to get to the valve seals, I 'm just going to swap them out and do the "hybrid cam" setup.

Also started removing the finish on these wheels. started with the easiest parts first to make sure its doable. and it seems it will be, i just have a long way to go. The intent here is to have a polished set of slips for the car. The face is sanded up to 180 grit so far. Once i get up to about 320 or 400, i'll switch to wet sand paper and go clear up to 2000 or maybe 3000 trizec pad since i still have some from when i painted the car.

Goal is to have the car supercharged and tuned by end of April beginning of May, I have no deadline for the wheels. Just want to get them done.

Got a lot of tasks to get down in what seems to be a short amount of time.

Tear down and organization.

Really dirty stock injectors.

Found my oil smell, lots of oil in the intake manifold.

I'm assuming this is just to eliminate the 2 separate heater hoses and the metal joining piece?

Minor updates from the last weekend:
  • TB, S tube, and manifold are on their way to get port matched.
  • Adjusted the oil cooler ports for clearance of the blower.
  • Made a thorough mess of the engine bay (and garage) with engine coolant and oil.
  • Re-routed the heater hoses per the directions, same with the fuel lines.
  • Ordered new injector seals for the RC 440s.
  • Removed the alternator to install the jackson pulley, but took it to get tested first. I'll never have the access I have now so i figured i may as well replace if i need to right now. I cant imagine trying to change the alternator with the blower in the car. Luckily, it tested fine.
  • Removed the factory manifold studs and grabbed some extended ones (just in case i need the room with the hondata intake manifold.
While i wait for the parts to come back, i'll continue as much as i can without those items, then i'll focus on some other stuff thats on my list to do with the car this winter.
