Hey forum ,

min having issues getting this 97 acura integra LS to start. It cranks but it will not start. So far, these are the things I’ve done to it to see if this is the issue.

  • checked all fuses
  • changed the main relay under the dash
  • installed a new fuel pump
the pump isn’t priming when I turn the key. I’m not sure if there is anything else I can check or do to it. I checked the fuel filter banjo bolt to look into the fuel filter is dry.

I don’t know if the previous owner put in akill switch to the fuel pump. There is a wire that is spliced into the lines leading to the pump. I’m posting a picture of the wire and new pump installed. The old one was horrible

The pump isn’t receiving power for some reason and I can’t figure out why. I’m going to try and find the wiring from the ecu and see if there’s a short there. Might need a new ecu.

The yellow and green wire on the main relay isn’t getting power.

So I hot wired the fuel pump and it turned on but now it won't turn off unless I unplug the hot wire lol it runs rough but it runs. Does this car need an electrician ? Or Jesus?

The pump will only receive 12V while cranking, and while the engine is running....so make sure you're not checking it with just the key "on".

Also - you'll here the pump run for a few seconds after turning the key to "on", as this function primes the fuel system

So I took the ecu off , checked the wires in the ignition , I took apart of the main relay and cleaned up the board , also checked the ground from the pump.

after I put everything back and started the car it wanted to start. 2nd crank and it turned on!

Thank you for all your help and this forum rocks!
