crank, no SPARK

So I’ve done a lot of diag, replaced all parts in the distributor and even bought a new one, motor has good compression and is getting fuel, it’s a 2001 LS motor, but it has no spark, an I’m absolutely stumped, it will intermittently run SOMETIMES, but when it does run it sounds like a tractor, I believe it only is running on two cylinders, but upon testing for spark after that cycle, absolutely nothing, distributor is getting power and all fuses are good, any sensors that could cause this issue? No check engine light or anything like that, it does have a 94 p75 ECU in it, nothing done to it in that regards, a lot of people say crank position sensor, but when I first put the motor in I didn’t have that connected and it ran and started perfectly fine, any help or advice is appreciated, thank you I’m advanced

Did you ever change your plugs and wires?

When you say "crank position sensor," are you referring to the crankshaft fluctuation sensor, the one with the reluctor wheel mounted directly to the crankshaft? The LS motor doesn't have that sensor anyway. That is only on the C motors. The LS motor does have what is defined as a crank position sensor, but it is housed with TDC and cylinder position sensors in the distributor housing. Without pretty much cutting individual wires, you have either all 3 of those sensors or none at all.

Ok, so what you’re telling me is that all “position” sensors on a b18b1 are in the distributor? I have not done wires but the plugs are newer, got them brand new, probably about 7k miles on them. So what does that reluctor wheel sensor at the bottom do then? I remember when I first dropped the motor in it wasn’t connected up and it still ran just fine and made no difference when I plugged it in, if it’s just wires after all this effort I’ll lose my marbles😂
I'm sorry. I was looking at the wiring diagram that indicates plugs to the CKF (crankshaft fluctuation sensor) that applied only the C motor. The B1 does have the sensor, but for both motors, its name suggests it is used only for detecting misfires. Unplugging it though should throw a code, P1337, but that's on OBDII models. Were the '94 ECUs OBDI?

Well, even with it unplugged it had no CEL, and they were obd1 I believe but don’t quote me, I’ve tried a whole slew of stuff and I’m now gonna do advanced ignition testing from meltman to see what I can get
