Hi, I got a 1996 GSR and my car is starting to act up. I'm not sure what is the problem but I think its probably the clutch.

When I start the car and try to be it into first or any gears it won't work. It just doesn't want to go in.

I turn it off and go through the gears fine. Start it up again and put it into first, when letting off the clutch the car shakes like its going to staff out while I'm giving gas still. While this is happening I try to put it in neutral but its difficult also.

Anybody have any idea what the problem is here. The problem is hard to describe. Since I can't drive it anywhere I won't be able to get it to a shop and why I come here first to get some opinions of the problem.

i'm having the exact same problem and i have a new clutch slave cylinder sitting on my desk right now, hoping to see if that solves the problem. My clutch does not Disengage meaning i cant get into any gears. Starting the car with it in first gear gets me rolling then i have to rev-match the rest. The clutch itself is fine because it does not slip under any circumstances. My biggest concearns are that its the throwout bearing or master cylinder. anyone else know whats wrong with our cars???

I just went out and bleed/flush the clutch fluid. Start her up and still can't put her into any gear with the clutch down to the floor.

So I guess I got to go look for a new clutch now. Going to do some research on which one I should get, but if anyone have any suggestions for a daily driver, please do.

Do you guys suggest getting a lighter flywheel or should I just get it resurface?

Oh how much does a clutch install usually cost with labor?
