i was just wandering if shops usually do it because i had my car tuned up a few times since i had it and just wandered if thats one of the things they do
Nope most won't do that. Usually they check all of your ignition components and fluid levels. If your valve lash is bad you'll hear a ticking noise coming from your valve cover so if a mechanic hears that then he'll let you know.
thats what i thought but wasnt sure, thanks for the info. i guess i need them to check the valve lash than because i do hear that ticking noise.......thanks
For your own peace of mind, it's good to ask what will be done or was done as part of the tune up. Also, even if you don't hear a ticking sound, it's good to check the valve lash periodically.
