i have a 99 ls and sometimes im driving and out of nowhere the rpm's drop, even if im still on the throttle.
a mechanic checked it out with the scanner and said that it was the sensor on the evap canister. Could this really be it? and what is it called because i could'nt find the name.thanks in advance

Have you checked your dist. cap, rotor, wires, spark plugs, etc.?

i haven't checked none of those things because my mechanic said it was the sensor above the evap canister. and this problem doesnt always happen, its a once in a while thing. thanks for your advice im gonna check those.

does it go up and down cause if it oes i think i know the problem

naa it just drops (slowing down the car) then it takes off pretty hard.. but i havent had this problem for like a week so lets just hope it went away....
