I have a 94 LS daily driver. As i'm sure you have seen at least one of my posts, I am piecing together t3 turbo kit. My question is this: can turbo upgrades (i.e. FMU, boost gauge, bigger injectors, etc) be installed one by one? I have already installed the S-AFC, next are the 370cc injectors. But after that, could i install the FMU before i throw the turbo on there (i figured i could since it is boost dependant, so it'll basically be dead weight until i throw on the turbo). also, the boost gauge is just a gauge, so it won't affect anythin, it will just give me a "0 psi" boost indication all the time until i put the turbo on, right? thanks.

Why get a fmu at all? Just get bigger injectors in the first place. You have a s-afc to control them. Yes you can install gauges later on and keep stepping up to bigger injectors. And yes you can have a fmu on your car w/o a turbo even though I really suggest you dont go that route.

Noooooooooo. SAFC is not boost dependant. You still need the FMU for boost. All the SAFC will do for you is help the idle with the bigger injectors. The only way the SAFC you could use just the SAFC with turbo is if you knew the exact boost pressure and each respective RPM level (i.e. 1000 - 7000RPM in 1000 RPM increments). The problem is that i'm not sure what the A/R on the compressor side is, so i dunno how fast it's gonna spool up.

Hey TurboLS, I'm sure you've checked this site out, afc hack. I think that's what you're trying to do. It doesn't seem like you'll need the FMU w/ bigger injectors. They suggest 450cc injectors though, so I'm not exactly sure about your 370cc. But I'm going with the 450cc as well as the safc. Keep us updated on your turbo project. Goodluck.

I assume that with smaller injectors, i would just use less negative values (like -30 instead of -35). BUt i have the FMU already, so i think i'll just use it(the SAFC) to smooth the idle. I'll just set it to -30% throughout and then the FMU will increase fuel pressure from boost reference mechanically. do you guys think that would work?
