when you bore a stock sleeve it is usually to resurface it from some piston damage
you only have to sleeve if the walls are damaged beyond repair
there are 2 types of sleeves, stock replacement and drag sleeves
stock replacement around $200 are obviously just repair damage
drag sleeves are little more than double and can be bored to a way bigger size
stock sleeves are 81mm max bore is 82mm
drag sleeves max bore is 85-86mm depending which brand and how capable the machine shop is
The general term "sleeving" has come to mean removing the weak stock Honda sleeve and replacing it with a high tensile iron ductile steel replacement. This is usually done for added strength in high horsepower turbo builds and for large bore all motor setups.
