I would like to know if 215/40/17 is the best fit for my car or 205/40/17. I need help because I keep hearing different things about these sizes. Also they say that with a 215..... tire I should use a 17x7.5 and with a 205.... I should use a 17x7

i have a 17x7.5 rim wit 215/40/17's and i wish i got lower profile tires so i could lower it more. the tires just look to big IMO, but i bet its less bumpy than 205/40's. good luck

I've heard that using a 215/40/17 tire will rub on a lowered Integra. I am currently using a 205/40/17 on my 17x7.5 wheels.

yeah the 215's will rub in the rear WITHOUT lowering. only in the turns the outside edge will hit the inner fender liner. Im gonna put Eibach pro-kits on in a few weeks and we'll see what happens

my 215/40's dont rub at all. but i did roll the fender lip, and now i can lower the back as much as i want to without rubbing.

The amount of rubbing that you will experience will depend on your rim and its offset as well as the amount you have lowered your car. I would recommend a 205 tire. If your offset is not matching factory you will experience rubbing problems because think about it you are adding a tire that is now 10mm wider than your stock tire. and a rim that is 2in wider (Maybe 1in wider, can't remember is stock GSR wheel is 15x5 or 15x6).
