Best run out of four, the 60’ times were terrible the best was 2.736 and worst was 2.867. In two runs I put it into D4 and the other two were in D3; I got better times in D3 and a higher trap speed. I power braked on all the runs up to about 1,500 I don’t think it helped. I think would have done better if I gradually accelerated in first rather then just trying to floor it. As for the track conditions the weather was 61 degrees partly cloudy. As for modifications I have AEM cold air, DC Sports 4-2-1 header, 2.25-inch custom cat back, B&M fuel pressure regulator, timing advanced, stock 14-inch wheels and full interior my car also has 136,000 miles and it is a four door.

I know I was really disappointed, any idea on what could be holding me back? It was fun though especially since it was at IDRC, really cool atmosphere the track people were friendly and no one was a dick about me running my auto. But still what wrong with my car?

Do you bog through 1st gear? My car bogged ridiculously, to where 1st gear seemed like the whole run on my steelies. The Grids and AVS ES 100's currently do my car better than any other bolt on by means of launching. Try launching at 2000-2200rpm, I personally get a little bit of wheelspin and a quick zip to redline without my car getting confused and popping into 2nd gear like some claim happens.


EDIT: Ah yeah, what tires are you on at the moment? Is your compression/leakdown/valve lash/other maintenance stuff as it needs to be?

Honestly, I don’t know if I bogged. I was a bit too excited; my brother said it looked like I did. As for the tires the 4 for $199 Discount Tire special and I have yet to do compression and leak down test.

EDIT: And for the first time ever I had wheel spin on three of the four runs. It sucked.

Ohh man, you can tell if you bog... you launch and the car's all "bleeeeeeehhh" until like 4000rpm. Lightweight rims (Rotas, Konig heliums, Comp. Lite, etc...) 3 season tires, Azenis/ES100/712/S0-2/3, or otherwise, combined with launching a little higher could solve the problem. Just go practice a bit and see what works for you.

on my 4dr auto i ran 11.0-11.3 on a 1/8th mi track
on stock 14s with only an intake and suspension
i cant find my slips any more its been a while since i raced
instead of holding the brake and the gas use the hand brake and just hit the gas
less bogging on the line

17.2??? with those bolt-ons..wow..i think your time should definatley be lower.

Yeah, I think I’m going to invest in some light weight 15-inch wheels and some nice tires before I get my B20 LS going. First gear was sluggish and worse than usual but I think there something mechanically wrong with my Integra.

I would kill to know the secret about this car that runs 11.0's nearly stock....

Upgrading to a 2.25 high flowing cat will help your situation.

You could also try power braking until 2000-2500.

were you shifting through your gears or just starting in D3 and D4?

Shifting would probably work better for you, letting the dial go to around 6200 - 6500 RPMs then shifting to the next gear not letting off of the gas at all.

6300 RPM's being the RPM at max horsepower

You won't get to D4, I hit about 105 in 3rd before it shift unde WOT. Don't brakestand, it won't do anything for you. And if you really feel the need to use the handbrake, I have never tried but I imagine it would help.

It might help my time but I shouldn’t have to manually shift through my gears in order to run low to mid 16’s. Right?

what you rally need to worry about is launching without bogging and wheel spin, i would just put it in D3 and let it rev to its highest and let it shif itself

on my 93 i put it in S3 and hold the handbrake while feathering the gas and to launch i drop the brake and just slam the gas and when im just about to hit redline in first i shift it down to 2nd and leave it there till just about redling then hit 3rd again. but on an 1/8 mi track (all that we have near here) i max 2nd out right at the end of the track so im about 65mph

i assume brakestanding is where one foot is on the brake whereas the other is on the gas? and when the light goes green left foot comes off and right foot smashes the gas pedal. what's wrong with this? what does the handbrake method offer that the brakestand offer doesn't?
