Hi,

I just got this car as a hand-me down, and somewhere down the line we think an alarm was put in. Long story short, someone lost the Keyless entry remote. Now all we have is the key. The doors will unlock but the alarm does go off constantly. We are also unable to start the motor. We got a new remote (Acura Dealer year stock) and tried to program it, but for some reason it wouldent work.

No documentation on the type of alarm.

Any help would be great.

Just because it was an option and installed at the dealer does not necessarily make it an Acura alarm system, a lot of dealers use an outside company to do stuff like that using equipment that is not factory....

So your first order or business is to find out what sort of alarm you do indeed have and go from there, because again, trying to deduce "stock alarm" just because it was installed at a dealer is not a good starting point
