Need help with a good brand piston/piston ring is Manley good enough. Just to rebuild the motor to working properly nothing special yet.

If your just rebuilding to drive it get some nippon pistons.

If planning to turbo or something down the road then worry about Manley or eagle rods and je or wiseco or such pistons

Agreed. OEM first pick. Then Nippon. And for rings, OEM is really cheap. Other than that, anything will work for a stock rebuild. A lot of people use Nippon rings as well. Just don't use "evergreen" brand. They are the company on ebay/amazon selling entire rebuild kits. Their rings are junk. And so are their seals & gaskets.
