i want 2 install an abs system in my 93 rs hatch. i think the most logical bolt-up choice would b the abs out of a 92-93 ls or gs. can any one tell me what all i would need 2 switch? i'm thinking axels, hubs, master cylinder and maybe ecu. any help would b greatly appreciated. thx

Dude..I think u should just foget the ABS...waste of time, money, wieght and room!...seriously...If i had the money I would get mine removed..or the know how! but the Type R 5 bolt is a good plan for imporved braking!!

ok, the reason i thought about an ls conversion was because i think i can pick that up a bit cheaper than a type r, plus i can keep my current wheels without adding adapters, and i dont believe it's a waste of time, abs brakes make a huge difference in ur stopping distance and in high speed cornering it helps cuz u cant lock up the brakes. if they're good enough 4 f1 racing then they'll work 4 me :) p.s. i'll b adding large diameter slotted rotors, racing pads and maybe 4 piston calipers.

yeah, i'm thinking for safety myself...

that and i really don't like ruining tires... my last set on my mitsu was really screwed up when I had to slam on them twice in one week to avoid an accident.

palm beach county people tend to drive like idiots... orlando isn't AS bad.

ABS actually lengthens stopping distances; getting to know your brakes and mastering “threshold braking” is the quickest way to stop. However, ABS is great in the rain and sometimes helpful in the snow, and especially helpful for inexperienced drivers.

not meaning to flame but ABS actually adds to your overall stopping distance and F1 cars don't have ABS, they are locking their tires evry once in awhile

lol not trying to be rude but i thought this comment was really funny.

and guys lets try to stay on topic. he didnt ask if abs was better than non-abs. he asked questions about how to install it and what all he would need.

actaully, i hear from comparisons 2nd gen integ vs. 3rd gen integs, that the 90-93 ABS really leaves much to be desired. im not saying that its bad, but its kinda a 1st generation attempt at ABS, same as say, a 92 accord fitted with SRS air bags. they're not actaully all that great, and very rough.

with the 90-93 integra ABS, the ABS engagement is very rough and the pedal vibrates alot more then a standard ABS on the cars you'll drive today.

freeride, i suggest you go with ABS. your right, it does help with cornering and you'll never lock up as long as your take care of your braking system. however, if your gonna do the conversion, you need to change almost everything.....definately all hubs, calipers, and brake cylinder... possibly other things like lines, axles, rotors, etc. ABS. is good all driving conditions...racing and street. trust me i know from experience. by the way, if you have drums and your gonna do the conversion i sugesst you go with discs all the way around....
