I just got a pair of 6.5 inch ample audio speakers for my teg. I looked over the article on here and said thats the speaker size for our car. But for some reason my new 6.5 inch speakers are to big. So i have to take them back. Are you sure our tegs uses 6.5"? Anyone can help out here.

Yes, 6.5's fit...here's the problem.

The 6.5" size is not a standard size. You'd think they'd all have a nice 6.5" diameter, but they don't. It's not a big deal though, w/a bit of custom work, you can make them fit properly...and properly is the key.

you can buy spacers so that they fit or you can make them, but dont cut anything on the car unless you plan on leaving it there.

Yeah some 6.5's fit flush even w/out having to drill new holes. But I guess it's a luck o' the draw.

5 1/4 work in the front and 6 1/2 work in the back.
I've got ADS 325IS drivers in my front lower with the 1 1/2 tweeter.

In the rears, I've got Eclipse 6 1/2 Coaxials.

Try swapping the 6 1/2 for 5 1/4...

Easy install to do.

all you have to do is cut the bottom of the that plate that holds the speaker takes 2 minutes so that the nmagnet can fit throu.

or you can leave the thing that holds the speaker(basket) out....

i wouldnt swap 6.5 for 5.25, just modify the basket (super easy to do to cut out the back), or make rings like shown in the article, its absolutely no big deal
