Any ideas?

There are plenty of show car threads here, but they are all pretty old.

Those events mentioned before and also import face off, also look at 'Import Alliance', i think is near you.

The biggest show, Hot Import Nights in Chicago was disbanded here years ago. Probably because smaller local car shows and meets have popped up where almost anyone can register their car. Namely JDM Chicago and Another Level Car Show if you guys ever want to check it out here.

IFO is coming back to Chicago next year. I've been to JDMC and Another Level. Not really my scene. I'd rather hang out at the track.

Me too, If i had a decent enough car to take there. More legitimate people would be at a track than some riff raff meeting up at Dairy Queen.

Indeed. Track life is function >>> form. Meets seem to be all about form >>> function. That disappoints me. I'd rather oogle fast cars with good craftsmanship and some paint imperfections than a blinged out stanced thing. But that's me. To each their own, live and let live.

I haven't got to a track yet with this car.
Back when my CRX was running and I lived in Florida I did some autocross in the scca.
Once spring rolls around I WILL get track time.
Tires have been ordered and now I wait.

I'm guessing Road Atlanta or VIR are the closest to me.

go with a normal or mildly lowered car to one of those shows/meets, get told to lower it lol

The only thing is lots of the stance kids are trying to make their cars look like track cars with the huge spoilers now, but still see no seat time, kind of had a feeling that it was going to happen.

The show scene seems toxic these days, while lots of good people, lots of elitism out there with Instagram-fame and other things like replica and real parts.

I enjoy the local autocross groups in the area so much more.

@aw614 , what do you think about going to a track weekend at Sebring sometime next year? I was going to try to gather up some FL peoples for one of the nine (!!) Chin Motorsports events in 2015

I might be down for it, just need time in advanced since Im not sure how scheduling will be in 2015 for me with work.

I'm guessing I will need to get a Snell SA helmet for sebring? (I might as well upgrade since my Snell SM 2005 is expiring this year.)
