Updated Smartphone Feedback Thread

We're pleased to announce that we have launched a new smartphone view on the site. This version has been designed to have a cleaner look, to fit really nicely into mobile (iPhone, Android) browsers, and unlike most normal web based skins will also include features that are normally reserved for desktop or phone applications. We built this as we realize you all spend more time today on your phones on the forum than you did 2 years ago, and we want to get the mobile view to a place where you can do everything (and more!) that you can do on desktop.

A few notes as I know many of you may have questions:

* This does not replace the free or paid in-apps that you have, such as any mobile apps. This is web-only.
* This new skin will only show when you access the site from a modern (Android 4+, iPhone) phone. It will not show for older phones or for tablets, blackberries or windows phones.
* Please give us some time as we work through bugs. Give it a try, give us feedback in our mobile thread url, and give it a chance. Every change needs time to get used to!

If you visit the site from your mobile phone, you'll get the new view automatically. You can login, post, reply, upload photos, view your private messages and more. You can also use the legacy mobile view by choosing the top left menu and Exit Enhanced Mobile Mode.

The feedback thread for any bugs, etc, please post below.

**Please let use know the device, software version, and browser being used if reporting any issues
.

Thanks!

Looks good to me for the most part. I'm using an iPhone 5 with Safari (iOS 8.1.1). One issue I noticed is that the three dots in the upper right cuts off in landscape mode (makes it impossible to access "Follow Forum"):

Looks good. For me, if I turn the phone in a horizontal orientation, I can still see the "follow" bars.

Is there an option to view the forums regularly? Now that I'm using it on my mobile device, I kind of don't like it lol.
Edit: Just figured it out!
I like the web version better....I like the home screen feature of the most recent topics....and the mobile version was slow and had a weird reply set up....actually kind of looks like the mobile version of eBay.

I don't like it.

Nexus 5, using Chrome (Lollipop OS - 5.0)

- It's clunky / slow
- Prefer navigation of the desktop (web) version layout
- Ads in the middle of posts and an ad at the bottom of the page use up a lot of the screen real estate

- No ability to resize attached images to posts once they're clicked on
- Can't log in via mobile version (telling me user or password incorrect - however.. here we are )

If we could somehow mimic the "most recent threads" and add icons indicating which threads have new posts, I'd think about switching back.

Thank you for the feedback everyone.
@basketballrox10 - Can you grab a screenshot of the layout in landscape mode so we can see how it cuts off. I can get the developers to look into the issue.
@InTeRgRa-evan @Reptil3 We will be adding more features to the forum soon and we're working on improving the speed of the enhanced mobile. There is an active topics section in the left hand corner 3 line menu.
@Reptil3 - Can you try logging into the enhanced mobile again and see if you still get an error message about your password being incorrect.

Thanks

@Administrator , thanks for the tip!

Regarding signing in from the mobile enhanced version, still no go. I closed the browser and re-opened again, typed the password in slowly to make sure I didn't fat finger it and I re-typed the e-mail.

Edit: I'm also noticing the first mentions in posts aren't detected correctly. The code shows up instead of a hyperlink for the user name. The subsequent mentions are fine.

Can you post a screenshot of the mentions issue? Also is the error message saying your password OR username are incorrect?

@Administrator , I apologize. I was logging in using my e-mail address. It would auto-fill on the phone. Disregard the password issue please.

New version looks great

Any chance of the app versions getting updates to support new iOS screen sizes like most other apps have since iPhone 6 release?

There's a picture in my post showing what is cut off but let me know if you need a different picture. The biggest problem for me:
When I search for something on Google on my iPhone (for example, "reset Integra maintenance light") the result for a thread on Team-Integra showed up. When I clicked on it, it didn't take me to the thread but just to the general forum page. This is a deal breaker and I ended up just going back and using the link to a Club Integra thread.

Can you tell me the thread you saw? The layout shouldn't impact google links. Is it possible the link in question was a closed/moved thread?

Can we move the next thread and previous thread icons. I have typed out many a post and accidentally clicked one of those two instead of submit because they are so close to the submit button. They are also currently overlapping each other on my phone and the previous/next are unreadable

Hello,

What device, software version, and browser are you using? Also, could you please provide us with a screenshot of the overlapping buttons? I can send the issue to the development team and they will look into fixing it.

Thank you!
