=== Original Post ===================================

All right, so got my car back 5 days ago from its accident (this was the damage, $1611 to fix that!!), the shop did an EXCELLENT job of (1) Fixing it and (2) Matching the paint, couldn't have asked for better

So onto the good stuff

(and before you even THINK about posting about it, yes, i have shocks and springs to rid myself of wheel gap, just haven't had time for the install yet... so save the keystrokes)

I'm always changing stuff, and i really felt like getting some different rims, so i hit up our former sponsor "EdgeRacing" located down here in miami and picked up some Falken Torque 5 rims (17x7) and some Hankook 405 tires (205/40/17)

As mentioned, i have some Koni Reds and HR Racing springs (1.75" front, 1.5" rear) that i picked up off of Joe and Ryan at NL Motoring, just waiting for the chance for the install

Moving on... one thing that was messed up on my car when i purchased it was the front bumper... looked like the previous owner ran up on a curb or something, so before I put it into the shop, i purchased a new bumper from Sunnyside Acura (not bad, $240 plus $90 to ship from CT to FL) and also picked up a Type-R Replica lip from another one of our sponsors, StreetStyler.com. the body shop charged me $300 to prep and paint them both, a price i thought was fair enough

Member DC4Kid hooked me up with a Rear Wiper Delete Plug, so took the time to remove that eyesore

Lastly I finally finished off installing some Carbon Fiber inserts from TopShop

Also waiting in the wings is the previously mentioned suspension parts PLUS I have new rotors and brakes that i bought from Jeff at PropartsUSA

All this I installed today.... tomorrow is the day to finish my system finally.... and hopefully within a few weeks find the time and place to install suspension and brake parts

Man, **** that... I'm not looking to swap out knuckles at the track...

Koyo bearing -> $40

Knuckle -> double that

Some partz = rolling in !

Here is everything needed to get the ducts going. I may have an issue in that I ordered the Type R brake dust shields instead of the GSR ones, with the thinking that "they'll already be cut out of the way for the ITR calipers", but what I didn't take into account is that the hub opening is probably a different size

Also got in *most* of the ss lines and fittings for my methanol setup. The guy I bought them from forgot two things needed and said he would get them out in today's mail....

It's the same size, the shields are just shaped to fit larger brakes without being bent.

ITR and all other tegs use the same wheel bearings and knuckles. :popcorn:

You'll get to use your shiny new press again to press the hubs out and swap the shields. Dont forget about the c-clip in the knuckle. :D
*and* ruin my brand spanking new bearings :-(

So i ordered what i need to combine the running and turn signals into one.. the brightness of the LEDs should be able to make the light easily visible from the fronts

these:

a set of these:

and this to make them blink properly:

As for the dust shields, looking at the page I am basing this project off of: https://robrobinette.com/S2000BrakeDucts.htm

he cut the sides of the hub opening on the shields (apparently) so he could get them on without disassembling the hub and knuckle... maybe I can do the same

Go to start the car few days ago, dead as a doornail...

charge car for a day+, still dead

go to test the battery, my "go to" multimeter: dead

go to my other multimeter: it's dead

ugghhh....

put a fresh 9v battery in the back up and i see this on my battery... yes, 0.00 volts....

:: sigh :: also ordered another set of Koyo bearings, because:

Went to Advanced to check on the battery: the employee made me aware it was an AutoZone battery (doh !!)... i'll deal with that tomorrow

Jeff and K2 were over and got both front knuckles off the GSR, seems like there is plenty of room to get some screws in the hold the dust shield in place... heading to Ace after basketball in the morning to see if i can get some short screws that'll work

Stopped at AutoZone today, completely switched out battery for me with zero fuss

So made a cut in the brake shield, slid it on and confirmed that some screws i bought today (class 12 hex head) will go on without pulling all this **** apart

My lights from "superbrightleds.com" arrived and these will serve as both running lights and turn signals in one shot, this frees up the other chamber of the light assembly for my duct !

Here is the LED bulb and and i had to use a unibit to open up the hole a little bit but it fits great

And here is the side marker and turn signal lights respectively !

I'm only going to cut the housing for the other chamber... seeing the turn signals just as they are won't be a problem, even from the front, they are bright as heck

Anyone following my thread here willing to put on the ol' thinking cap to help me solve a problem?

I want to put this flange here on the dust shield at this location. Any ideas on how to fill in this gap (highlighted in red) ?
