alright... the theme for this weekend's work was RUST. i felt like i spent 90% of my time breaking bolts and having to drill them out of the car. so before i finish up the brake line installation, i need to order all new brake line clips. i removed the old rear brake hoses and there is a mounting clip on these too. i cant tell which they are in the parts diagram though.... here is the diagram:

and here is the rusted up parts (ignore the bent one, i bent it trying to undo that 12mm bolt)

i'm 90% sure these are not on my new brake hoses, but i ran out of daylight to track down what box o parts they are in and confirm. is this piece on that acura break down above?

i'll upload some more pics of the little work that actually looks like i did something

Is it inside sub-assembly "1"? Kind of looks like it but I can't tell for sure. It might be in the breakdown of the caliper itself possibly? Assuming this is the piece of line right before it runs to the caliper.

oops, these are for the rear. so it would be under "3" or "4", but i dont see anything that quite looks like them. i'll dig up the caliper breakdown and check there. or if i get home in time tonight i'll dig for my new brake hoses

edit: think i found it. i started thikning about where this piece connects to, and to the best of my memory it connects to the rear trailing arm.

number 3 and 4 in this image...pretty sure.

so as promised here are my mediocre (at best) updates. i have all of coolant lines etc.. to replace all of those and all of the pieces i need to install the ITR oil cooler. i'm placing an order today to acura...again...ugh $$$$...to order all new brake line clips. once i get those pieces on hand, i can finish installing the fuel/brake lines and get the subframe back in the car. after that, its on like donkey kong with the motor work.

so i'm hoping for this weekend coming up that i can finish re-assembling the subframe and rack and get that ready to go, replace the plethora of coolant lines on this motor, and install the ITR oil cooler to the back of the block. that is the game plan as of right now.

as for work i did this weekend, not much beside breaking bolts and drilling them out. i'm still nursing my lower back to get back to 100% so my work this weekend was mainly cosmetic. i prepped my valve cover and painted it (no pics yet), and i prepped the engine bay to make it a little more respectable lol.

this is using that ford green color by the way.

here is some before pics to refresh memory:

BAH! so i checked on my valve cover last night and the paint didnt take very well. i'm thinking one of two things happened. 1. it got below the temp threshold for this stuff to cure or 2. i put it on too thick.

looks like i'll be stripping this back off and starting over again.

this was with wrinkle type aerosol paint.

Did you cure it in the oven? I did mine and regretted it. It started flaking off in about a year. Next time I'm either leaving it sanded for the "brushed aluminum" look or Saving a Lil more to get it powder coated.

still no brake line parts from acura...and to add onto that i received a refund for 2 parts i ordered. it turns out those brake hose mounts to the rear trailing arm are discontinued. great! awesome! grand!

oh well. even if the brake line parts show up this week, unless the forecast changes i dont see myself wrenching next weekend. the high is projected to be 12 or 13 and the low -2. i dont think my kero heaters will be able to do much in that kind of cold. we'll see.
