Today I noticed that my brake lights wont shut off.. all three of them are lite up like someone is in the car pressing on the brake peddle... keep in mind that the car is not running while they are lite up... another thing is that i found a little rubber piece on the floor of the drivers side... its flat circled with a point... is there any quick fix to this? I would apprieciate the help if anyone could give me any tips. thank you all

The brake light switch behind the brake pedal went out on you. I took my car to an mechanic who specializes in electric stuff. He fixed it for me in 20 minutes for $5!!

Just like to add that the bolt fix worked for me as well.

I haven't been an active TI member in years and this is an old thread, but I love the fact that when my brake lights won't turn off at 1:30 AM I am able to find a fix and take care of my problem in under 30 minutes.

Fixxed in the parking lot in about 30 seconds.

Founds the peices on the floorboard. When i did a quick google search it brought me to this post.

I used one of the plastic peices that hold the car together. Like the big plastic peice that covers the ecu? That little plastic kind of screw.

Will work till i find a better permanent solution

This is the OEM part (46505-SA5-000), they are a few bucks on eBay, I think the dealer (any Honda or Acura one) sells them for like $8 if I remember correctly
