the links you posted were very useful.. even one pointing to this thread.

but i've yet to read anything anywhere about an ls tranny with a B20 engine, i'm guessing i missed it... but i keep seeing the use of a gsr tranny with it..

i don't see a problem really except possibly a bolt pattern, alignment of the center of transmission not aligning into the clutch/engine. anyone have another website i could use for this?

and sniper, how's the build going for you? how far have are u in the process?

I miss this forum and am very thankful for all it helped me with! Best of luck to all!

Haha, sorry about that one link.

It was a quote from another thread that was on the front page at the exact same time as this was. But the other links should still be relevant (except for the FI Stuff)

ALL B-SERIES TRANSMISSIoNS/ENGINES ARE INTERCHANGEABLE.

Why wont this thread die? Seriously. There's a B20Z on an LS tranny in my driveway. It was also on an auto for some time. It was also on a GSR tranny for some time.

FOR THE LAST TIME!
A B20XX is PHYSICALLY the EXACT same on the outside of the engine. That means EVERYTHING that fits on an LS will bolt up to a B20XX.

You would not be able to identify a B20 as any different than an LS on the outside except for the B20XX engine code and the knock sensor if its a Z.

i want you to reread what you just wrote, an ls block on a b20? You definitely don't know what you're talking about. Gas mileage? yes the ls tranny is best for highway driving because the 5th gear doesn't allow the motor to rev that high just to go 60mph. But thats about it, gas mileage will still be the same unless you are racing down the highway so obviously you're wasting gas right there.
