Door ajar light flickers while driving

2000 GSR 2dr

When I'm driving, the door ajar light will flicker from time to time. Same thing happens if I rest my knee on the door.
I've also noticed that when I get out of my car and close the door, the door has about half an inch of wiggle if I push on it while its closed.
Are these two problems related? Does it have to do with my door latch or something like that? How can I go about fixing this?

Thanks guys, this forum has been incredibly helpful since I got my car.

Adjust the door striker in the door jam so that it pulls the door closer to the body of the vehicle.

Do I just take the two screws out of it and I can move it a bit farther inward?

Pretty much, but you usually don't have to take them out all the way, just loosen them. If there is a shop near you, they will usually show you what to do for free.

Since going to church makes you a Christian, does going to the garage make you a car?

If my sig offends you, ignore it. If you don't know how, pm me & I can show you.

Thanks! This worked perfectly and solved my issue. Door is noticeably more solidly closed to the car now as well.
