Exclamation Grinding noises!

I have a 94 integra standard transmission, 160k miles, recently purchased used.
I started hearing grinding noises coming from mid engine area.
This happens as soon as i turn the vehicle on idle but goes away when the clutch is pressed every time.
Where should i start diagnosing the problem?

fluid exchange on the transmission and use a filter cone to check for metallic debris.

It very well could be the throw out bearing, or less likely the pilot bearing, rather than the transmission. It's relatively cheap, but unfortunately hard to get to. You have to pull the trans.

Sounds likely to be the throw out bearing to me.

Since going to church makes you a Christian, does going to the garage make you a car?

If my sig offends you, ignore it. If you don't know how, pm me & I can show you.
