So is the neighbor paying for the damage? After all, it's totally their fault.

Don't think it's like FL unfortunately.

baowow...sounds like a very close call! i knocked over the basketball hoop. i think they're retiring it. hehe

codenamezero...i def would if the hood had gotten damaged, but it was only glass (thanks goodness)

MixMasterMike...lmao! nice addition to the pic! poor little domo.

tlangy...i only have liability. :( i needed comprehensive and don't have it.

97lsteggy...new windshields ftw is right!

i already had 2 cracks on it from construction around the area and one that came with the car when i bought it.
i called my insurance, they gave me companies to call...because i was referred by my insurance i got a discount.
i'll be paying 152.25 for a replacement windshield with a new top guard thing and lifetime warranty. they're installing it tomorrow morning.

my gf's dad gave me 200 to pay for it and said that his home owners insurance will rein burst him. nice guy.

my only issue now is i have a receiver for my car alarm on the windshield but i don't use the alarm since i don't have the button. should i have them put it on the new windshield? hmm...

sry it took a while to get back to you guys...had my first physics exam today, then i was watching ufc

i'll update later tomorrow after it's installed and what not.

Ouch man. yeah it was exceptionally windy the past 2 days.

At least you have lifetime warranty. Sounds like the same company I used to replace my windshields.

I say windshields because I am on my 4th 1. I drive I-80 to University every day and with last winters very bad pot holes I lost 2 windshields to cracks/chip. Last one was at 75mph and I had a choice between a small rock or a big brick. Both kicked up from a passing semi. (I choose the smaller one) So I get the window replaced and not 1 week later I now I have a chip in near the same spot.

I had to laugh though. That is pretty epic. At least no long term damage. Watch out for that safety glass. Car was broken into and shit stolen a year ago and to this day I still find tiny chunks of glass every once in a while. Even after heavy vacuumings and cleanings. With the glass near the window vent you may hear rattlings. Might have to pop the vent and clean that out.

Good luck to you. Keep that windshield warranty handy. I use it yearly...   I swear its because of how low and long the nose of the car is.

i've been busy with school, the teg, and a new job!

i'll post pics of the new windshield hopefully tomorrow after work.

also, my radiator crapped out on me, so now i'm thinking about whether i want a oem replacement or get a half sized radiator.

P.S i found some broken pieces of glass in the engine bay area today...not cool. also, first time i started the heater some little pieces appeared on the dash

i'll update soon.

Ouch. At least the windshield is relatively easy to replace. If it had smashed onto your hood you're looking at some expensive paint work.

Now: 2005 Audi S4
Before: 1999 GS-R coupe

very true.

if the hood had messed up i would have probably just gone carbon fiber...cheaper than getting a new one/repairing + paint

(i forgot i had this thread open...sry took a while to reply)

^ the hatch glass would have sucked the worst. curvy odd shaped pieces of glass cost a crap ton.
