well i recently installed a new clutch into my ride. long story short i had a "mechanic" install a clutch last january. well since then its always had a weird whirring noise when the car sat idling. i thought nothing of it. he was a reputable mechanic. only reason i didnt do it myself was i didnt have the time. well it left me stranded few weeks ago. no longer went into gear. i pulled tranny apart and found pilot bearing in pieces..along wit my clutch. so i took the time and installed another one myself. now it works fine but if i push in clutch all the way down,it makes the same noise and doesnt shift. i have to push it only bout halfway. shifts fine every gear but this really worries me. i replaced pilot, throw out, and clutch. greased both bearings and resurfaced flywheel. any help is greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.

Sounds like the cable is to tight and your hyper extending the clutch.

sounds like your mechanic didn't adjust your clutch after installation and your release bearing was constantly riding the pressure plate causing it to wear out. You'll need to adjust the clutch or it might end up the same way the last one did.

When you push down on the peddle it should have a 1 1/2 of free play.

well when i tried to adjust my clutch, for some reason when i cnnected my clutch cable i had to adjust it to almost the very end of the threads, as if my clutch is still old. if its a brand new clutch shouldn't i have a lot more room for adjustment? does anybody know what is wrong?im thinking maybe my cable needs replacing. stretched?
