Just finished the manual swap in the 98 teg. The first thing is the chassis is NOT the same. The top trans. mount bracket must be cut and rewelded in different place to work. Its a pain to put in the pedal set, and you have to weld up the floor pan hole, where the auto shifter linkage is. But here is the parts list needed to swap a y21 in a dc4 chassis.
1. The trans.
2. Linkage rod assembly (any 94-01 teg)
3. Manual trans. console
4. Shifter and knob
5. Manual ECU
6. Pedal assembly (94-01 civic or teg)
7. Clutch slave and master cylinders
8. Clutch fluid container
9. Clutch hard lines and hoses
10. Flywheel and bolts
11. Clutch set with alignment tool and throw out bearing.
12. Manual intermediate shaft (94-01 teg, 95-97 delsol, 99-01 civic)
13. Rear trans. mount bracket for manual trans. (94-01 teg only!)
14. Front trans. mount bracket for manual trans.
15. After re welding the bracket on chassis, a top tran. mount for manual trans. (94-01 teg)
16. Starter for manual trans.
17. Lots of spare bolts and nuts
18. Air tools
19. GM syncromesh #12345349, 3 quarts.
20. Time and plenty of beer.

Hey congrats, I'm doing mine this weekend, it would have been done a lil while ago but got sorta back loged doing other stuff around the house. I'll try to take some pics, thanks for the head up about welding the floorpan by the shift linkage.

Think anying in Iraq has heard of Spoon?

BTW what's the difference between a rim and a wheel? (Michael Delaney)

Paul, my pilot bearing came with the flywheel, and one in the clutch set, so ive got a extra.

Tommy, not major fab. just pieces of thin metal and a pop rivet gun would work for floor pan hole, will have to reweld chassis mount or modify trans mount with a pedistall about 2.25 inches taller.

Justin, have fun hammering those spot welds off the bottom of the auto shift linkage, hint, chisel and sledge.

Do I need to buy manual transmission axles? Or do I just need the intermediate/half shaft?

also...I just bought the whole conversion set up from a guy but it's all from a 2000 Civic SI. I know atleast some of the parts will work including the SI tranny. He said he'd send me everything needed including shift linkage, mounts, pedals, master/slave cylinders, so I hope everything works out. If you guys know specifically what will or will not work, tell me.

bolts don't line up right on the transmission...I heard you can ghetto rig it up and it'll work, but just sell it and buy a diff starter...
