Curious to know what the pros and cons about used b18c1 blocks. I got a guy who's selling it for 250 bucks cash. Good shape good for the price? Of course I'll take pics and comment about this after viewing it. I just want some feedback on what to look for and what to look out for. I want this block to be my built. I'm not going turbo, I'm going for about 250 all motor. Thanks.

Bring a metal ruler with you and some feeler gauges, make sure the deck is stright. Check for obvious knicks or pitting in the bore, etc.... Make sure the main caps are all there.

Decent price.. I've seen GSR short blocks sell for $300 all day long.

My VTEC screams in the silence of the night.

So $250 is a good price for a bare block with about 150k+? I'm going to sleeve it anyways.

Bare block....not really.

If you're going to sleeve it anyway, any defects in the bore or sleeves is not a problem.

If your re-sleeving look for one with a cracked sleeve. You can pick one up for less then 100 bucks probably.

I C1 block that shatterned a piston (noob put eBay turbo kit on, no tuning whatsoever, you do the math.) that I could sell to you for very cheap, but shipping is going to be horrendous.

Any one have a weight on a bare block? I could get you a quote if you are interested.

shipping shouldn't be too much for a bare short block (no pan, not internals, no head)

it's aluminum, and the crank is one of the heaviest things.

I'd say u'll get away with shipping it in an oversize box just like shipping a rim. ~15-50$ depending on the weight and distance.

I just did a (in-state) shipping quote on a 20lb rim in a 20x20x10 box and it was 15$

hopefully it wont dissappear again

make sure it still has the main girdle that goes over the middfle 3 main caps if its a c1 or c5, since the replacements are pretty pricey

B is for best, therefore B is better than K anyday!

Well no defects that I know of and I have no idea if it's going to have the girdle, if not, then i'll offer 150. Supposedly he took it for a ls/vtec swap.
