Hey guys I'm looking for a carbon fiber roof cap for my sedan. I have a sunroof and I want to get rid of it so a carbon fiber roof cap seems like it would meet my needs as well as look nice. Can anyone recommend a place or sponsor that I could contact for this purpose? I tried searching on some other sites but the people who are selling these caps are selling them for the 2 door models and their last updates are all in 2008. I dont mind driving a little, but I would definitely prefer to pay for shipping rather than having to drive a few hundred miles for a roof cap.

Thanks guys!

s2carbonworks has two different types of roof caps. Give them a call, and ask for Jeremy the owner. He's a really nice guy and would gladly help you out. His shop is in TX.

there is a company on ebay that is making them also.unfortunitly there location is a lil too close to where alot of roof caps get made which is idaho.the main company that started doing these was composites fab but they started selling these without making them, they went out of business then all of a sudden there was a guy from the same area that started making them and he too scammed a bunch of people for there roof caps.now again there is a company that is making them and there name is something...fab,i cant remember it rite now but there on ebay.im not sure about the the 4door model tho.i had a cf one from composites fab and it was really nice but i just changed up to a kevlar one that i bought from someone who got it from s2carbonworks.the s2carbonworks one did fit a lil better than my composites fab cap.

check out my build thread!

I emailed S2carbonworks but they just replied:

"as of right now we don't make a sedan roof, just the coupe."

..so I guess they're not interested in pursuing a new project. My chances of finding one of these caps for a 4 door seem slim. Hopefully I can find a shop willing to do it for me or else I'm just going to have to do without.

Has anyone here laid carbon fiber on a roof before? I hear it was as simple as sanding down the roof, covering it with resin, laying a sheet of carbon fiber, and then covering it with resin until you get the desired thickness. I'm sure its not that easy but I pickup stuff like that really easily so if its not too expensive I might give it a try. Any opinions?

From my general reading on the internet this is the same story I came to understand. Sadly that means there's no one making a new mold at the moment.

Exclusive Imports in NJ can do it...

Hell he can make a carbon fiber quarter panel rofl...

They'll need ur car to do it right then and there

If I were you I'd just get the sunroof glass done in CF and paint the rest black... ;)

Sounds good, Ill definitely be giving them a call. I really dont want to do a black roof at all because I dont think it fits our cars that well but having a nice carbon fiber weave sitting on top of the car looks amazing. Ill be repainting my car next year tho and since I'm doing it myself I might paint the roof black first for funzies to see how it turns out lol

I'm sure those wouldn't be too hard to do, and yeah StreetStyler.com iirc is right outside philly and they appear to do a lot of carbon fiber applications.

as far as a a full cf roof on a street car tho, idk... that might not be street/inspections legal, and if you ever did roll-over... oy.

Well the caps go over the roof. The companies that make 2 door carbon fiber caps also make full carbon fiber roofs and they basically replace the sheetmetal part of the roof and they claim theyre both street and track legal. IA sheet of carbon fiber is able to protect you just as well as a sheet of metal if it's molded properly, but I dont know what it takes to make it "properly".
