well as some of you may know my car got F'ed up by a deer so I've been looking for a replacement. I love integras so I want to get another one. Problem is there isn't too many for sale in Ohio right now, I can't even find replacement parts IF I wanted to attempt to fix my old DB7.
There's a dealer who has a 1999 LS automatic, black leather interior, fully loaded everything works. There's one rust spot where hondas always get them, and theres a small spot on the hood also. It has 218K on it but they "say" that it runs great. Its a 1 owner car. I've learned not to trust people haha so until I see it for myself that's all the damage it has.
Pending the carfax, they are asking 2995 for it. Is this too high for a 99 with 218k on it, or should I consider it? If so, how can I talk them down?

I'd definitely find something better. For one it is an auto, unless that is what you want? Secondly it has too many miles IMO. The price seems alright if you compare it to KBB, but I'd still try to talk them down to at least $2500 if not lower. Overall though, I'd try to find something else.

99 ls with 218,000 miles is insane
my 99 GSR had 85105 when I bought it.
Thats 22000 miles a year. Seems kinda high.
I would walk away and find a better deal. Like a 99 with under 120,000 miles. And they are a dealership which are in business to sell cars, any way they can. So them telling you that a 99 ls with 218k on it runs great is a big fat lie...

I would pass on it, too high of mileage for that price and I doubt they will go down to a price that is fair, being its being sold at dealer. I have a 99LS and mine at 109XXX.. I would keep looking hell maybe look out side your town, if you want a teg so bad, you wouldnt mind traveling a bit to find the perfect teg!

Granted i had a 97 with 200k on it and it ran flawlessly, Better than friends and family's car's with 100k. I still took it on 10 hour round trip road trips once a month... never gave me a single problem. BUT! Just cause my car ran that well that doesn't mean every teg will. You don't know what kind of care the owner gave it. I think 3k is WAY too high. I'd give 1700 max. Just cause of the miles. That's pretty well up there.
Just a fast search on Cars.com
Teggy W/ 130k $2,999Teggy W/108k for 2,995.Teggy W/108k for $2,995
Sooo yeah, Just a fast search and there are plenty of others with WAY less miles. I think it would totally be worth it to get a buddy to take you on a little road trip to get a teg for the same money but with 1/2 the miles.... Don't settle for something close that's overpriced.

man i think you can find better. dealers are ALWAYS over priced. i bet you they gave 2k for that car in a trade in. Maybe not even that much. I would look in other areas and find something better. I know down here in TN we have a lot of Teg's for sale. Just look on craigslist in the Nashville, TN area and you will find stuff if you wanna take a road trip

You can find a much better deal.
EX: For less than twice that asking price ($5800 to be precise), I got my 1-owner GSR stock W/ 100,000 miles on it, a clean title, and all-new fluids.
You could find a 218,000-mile auto ls on Craigslist for around $2000 or less if you can talk them down.

Ok I abandoned that idea, I found a 94 LS with 120k for 2500, I can probably talk him down a bit though. this is good because I can swap in the motor i've been building because its the same year. Its down in columbus though haha

I just bought a 94 ls and I love it...i got it from this guy who was selling it for his mom. mine was around 1300 for my 94 with 132k miles and even after changing the valve cover gasket it was the best choice. definitely agree that the lower miles are the way to go in this one.
