Hey guys I have a question, Its about that time where I seriously need to think of getting another car, my dc2 might die at any time and I just don't have time to keep fixing problems. So there is a guy selling a 02 rsx shell and I know someone with an 05 type s motor complete. Seeing as how i won't be spending much on the motor because he probably will hook me up I know the shell can only be bought for at least 3-4k. What I need to know is will I have any problems swapping in the motor to an 02 shell? If the guy has the ecu to that motor will I be able to plug it right in with no problems?

This is not the case and it is not a simple swap. This isn't your ordinary b-series swap.

In the interest of helping others, why not explain this a bit more?

If the shell is a type-s then a k20z swap w/ matching ecu from an 05 type-s shouldn't be too hard.
Most of the differences between the 2 motors are internal. However 1 problem is that the speed sensors
between the a2 and z1 are different. I'm not sure about the differences in ecu's though, like if an 05
ecu will drive 02 gauges etc.

You would need some sort of immobilizer bypass. They are sold, but you'll have to add that into the cost. Or get K-pro.

Swift as many rivers streaming to the ocean, Rush the heroes to your fiery gullets:
Mothlike, to meet the flame of their destruction, Headlong these plunge into you, and perish.
