Since 06' we-todd-did racing has been having track events at Carolina Motorsports park. This was my third event there but the first as a driver (car was never running). The track at CMP is built for a Honda: 14 turns in a very tight and technical track configuration. It isn't uncommon for a solid driver in Solo to pass 1-2 GT3's in a single lap.

The weather was beautiful, high's were mid 70's and lows were high 40's, and the sun was out both days. Last year the high's were in the 50's, the low was 28 degrees, and it was cloudy the whole time. That is a huge difference when camping!
This was my first event in the new caR. Nervous was an understatement, but having been on CMP a number of times (ride alongs) and studying the track through videos made the experience much easier. I had an excellent instructor (Bob) but sadly our track time was cut short. I'l cover more of that in my rebuild thread later. Onto pictures!
Car packed for the trip...oh do I love integras:

Drove to Greenville Thursday and stayed at Dave(Dave_B)'s house. Friday swapping wheels + brakes:

Wheels and Brakes on:

After dyno party, fueling up for Saturday: Nate, Brian(Asian-G), and Erik(Erik95LS)

At the track...BlackFire and myself:

Memo: Always bring camping poles. Ali and David from Miami, Fl.

Nate(Litte Nolan)'s new car (formerly TI mod's cheezethis's GS-R)

Since I couldn't drive I resorted to ricer shots:

After picked up 4x 615's from Brad, this was my trunk for the drive home:

Safely in the garage:

Big thanks to Sylvia at Carolina Motorsports Park! The track management has always been excellent with our group, and this weekend was no exception. They let me use the garages to inspect my shift linkage/transmission (supposed to rent) and gave me a coupon for the weekend to use in 2010. That means I'm not out $$$ for not being able to drive.

That coupon was a nice gesture and makes it worth it, very cool. I didn't catch that on the other boards.

Nathaniel has done some great work my old car. I'm happy to see it in pics at the track too. I miss that car, but if he's enjoying it, then I'm happy.

I do believe he is enjoying it. I recall him and Walker chasing down the 430 Scuderia for three laps. The Ferrari wouldn't let them pass and instead hit the pit lane.

Awesome looking event! I am sure it was a blast Ryan. I don't know if you remember me but I met you at IA over the summer, in the pits haha.
You plan on coming to IA next year? Possibly doing the time attack event?

I remember you sir. I plan to be out there tracking. My transmission should be fixed in the next 2-3 weeks. We find out this weekend what the damage is.

Nice! I would love to see the R out there. And that tranny situation really sucks.. and moreover it was something so simple that caused the pre-mature wear. Best of luck to you on getting it all sorted out.. I'll be keeping an eye on your thread!

Hopefully, I'll be able to make it down there next year with the force-fed beast... Looks like a blast aside from the trans issues. I'd be interested to see what it looks like when the case gets popped open.

CMP is a great course and a configuration that really makes a Honda shine. I should know more about my transmission this weekend.
