sometimes i just have a quick question and want to look it up in a hurry. maybe i'm just lazy but if the search bar was on the front page i could get the question answered faster? just a thought.

its been asked before, and you'll get the same answer i gave before:

not gonna happen, become unlazy and click any link (one click is all it takes) and then use the feature

the splash page is already "too busy" as it is

I apologize if this has been covered, but all the threads I could find on the search feature have been locked, so I hope I don't say something out of line here.

With as much emphasis as we put towards getting people to use "search" here, why *not* have it on the front page? I come here about 20 times a day, and sometimes even I forget where the search is until I see it pop up on a subpage. It's one of the greatest features of the page, why not put it right where everyone can see it?

becuase every page you are on, except the main one, has the search function. its not too incredibly difficult to click one link and serch. plus, i think you have the wrong mind set. when i come here looking for info, i search for a long time before i start a new thread because chances are that its all ready been covered. what im saying is that when you come here searching for imformation, you should be thinking search and therefore shouldnt forget about the function.
