Ok so after reading hundreds of posts where people just don't know how to post pictures and instead of us being able to see what they are talking about we get a red x or a link we need to cut and paste into our browser....well my firends, I am here to help.

Here are easy to follow directions on how to post pictures on TI

This is where it all begins...at the post box

most people just see the blank box where they type in meaningless posts but if you look around it there is so much more...for example a feature that lets you add images
found here

once you click on the little picture of a tree a window pops up

In this window you post a direct link to your picture.

No the pictures cannot be loaded directly off your computer , they need to be uploaded to the web first

there are plenty of websites that allow you to load up your pictures and one of the more popular ones (and easiest to use) is photobucket

since most people are already using photobucket to host their pictures we will use that as our source

when looking at your album in photobucket it should look something like this

notice that each picture has 4 links underneath it, to post pictures in TI we will need the second link circled here

you can copy it from there or if you click on the picture it will give you a solo view like this

you can copy the second link from here as well (Direct link)

ok so now that we have the link to our picture we go back to the TI window and paste it

once its in there just click ok

if everything was done correctly it should look something like this

if you wish you can add text or more pictures by repeating the steps but. When you are done with your post click "Post Reply"

TA-DA! you have successfully posted a picture on TI

Yes it is extremely easy but for some reason people still don't know how to do it...you know who you are, well I hope this helps and puts an end to those annoying no-picture threads

Nice... Now here's how to post pictures from Google Images or pictures off of independent websites.

Follow Krayzie's first few steps as so:

most people just see the blank box where they type in meaningless posts but if you look around it there is so much more...for example a feature that lets you add images
found here

once you click on the little picture of a tree a window pops up

In this window you post a direct link to your picture.

Next go to Google and click on images:

Now enter the text you want to search and click search:

Then click on the picture you want to use:

Then click on full size images:

Then highlight and copy the address of image location:

Then once you have the address copied... continue to follow Krayzie's instructions:

ok so now that we have the link to our picture we go back to the TI window and paste it

once its in there just click ok

This can work on so many other levels. For example a few weeks ago some people were asking for pictures of a sleeper-tubo setup... the one that comes to mind is Tony the Tiger's Integra. Ironically the day before I looked up Tony the Tiger's Integra on Honda-Tech. Since it was fresh in my mind I wanted to post the pictures of his Teg here on TI. So this is how I got the link address:

First here's the picture as found on Honda-Tech:

Now what you need to do is right click on the picture and a click on "Properties" on the tab that pops-up:

Once the "Properties" Screen pops-up you will see the following... Now just copy the address and post it up on TI.

You can use this method to post "almost" any picture you find off the internet onto TI.

NICE WRITING BUT I CAN FIND A WAY TO SAVE YOUR TIME.. DO YOU SEE IMG CODE UNDER EVERY PICTURE IN PHOTOBUCKET GALLERY? OK, JUST COPY THAT LINK IN IMG CODE AND PASTE IT INTO THE THREAD WHERE YOU WANT TO PUT. THAT'S IT. ITS BETTER THAN OPEN A IMAGE LINK AND LEAVE LINK IN THE BLANK AND CLICK OK. ITS KINDA WASTE YOUR TIME BUT IF YOU DONT CARE, SURE DO YOUR THING.

Ran across something interesting tonight that will help this topic along

Photoshop Express (which is free to sign up and use) now ties into Flickr and Imagebucket so it is super easy to resize/retouch/make-notes to your images you want to post here on the site

I hope this isn't a totally ignorant question, but why can't you download images off of your computer? I mean why do they have to be on a photo hosting site first?

Pictures take up quite a bit of space, and bandwidth... The site would probably run/load much, much slower if everybody was uploading/downloading pictures all the time. Text takes up less space, and is much faster to access... With the kind of traffic that this site sees, it's best to separate photo hosting somewhere else.
