hey guys!

sorry i havent put up many updates lately, just got back from vacation, which was awesome! I got to play with some white tigers and a fuckin LIGER, i didn't even know that existed! anyway, some some cool tegs down there, but my camera died, so no pics   :(    Since I got back though, I finally cleaned up the subframe and all its hardware. Since my freind lives down the road with a sandblaster, i am fortunate enough to where i need something blasted, I can use it whenever i want. So I blasted all the nuts/bolts and the two risers off of the subframe. Also, i trimmed more material off of the stupid hardrace bushings so they fit on the rack. I cleaned up the E brake cables, and all the hardware on them as well. other than that, just hit it with some industrial gloss black paint, and mounted the rack. I also put fluid in the rack to keep it lubed up when in use and got some hubcaps for the teg from another TI member.

center caps for the wheels, they look pretty good actually.

I'm going to put a red acura emblem on them, then spray with a satin clear coat.

shit needs work

all cleaned and painted hardware

got some cheap ass steering fluid since its really not important other than to just lube the rack some, and put it in the two holes where the lines go into the rack tube. After I got as much fluid in there as i could, i tightened up one of the tubes, turned the rack pinion, and fed fluid into the other hole, theres still a little big of air, but i dont think it really matters at all.

torque specs :)

this bushing fit perfect

this one not so much

Its now ready to go into the car, all I really need to do to the rack is just get the two outer ball joints, and one inner ball joint. Apparently the previous owner had just had one replaced right before i got the car, because that inner one looked much newer and it was a lot tighter than the other.

Thanks for lookin guys!

I see this guy get picked on a lot.. I'm not sure he is an idiot.. I mean mistake do happen and with a car as powerful as that I'm sure mistakes are a lot more easy to come by haha I dunno but I feel bad for the driver...

That being said, I like the cleaned up frame and rack.. I just did the same on my build.. gonna be nice driving with a new rack, rod ends inside and out and all new balljoints..I think this is the closest you can get to experiencing an Integra as a new car.. drive wise I mean. Atleast that's what I hope. haha

lol, well I hope. I think after all new ball joints/rod ends, bushings, ect, the car should be super tight, plus it looks great too :)

So im about done with my front calipers, and i go to clearcoat them, and they turn out like this. in The pics its kind of hard to see, but it came out very milky, and also it has small bubbles everywhere. I used duplicolor ceramic clearcoat for high temp applications, and the paint I clearcoated is the same stuff, so I dont know why it would turn out like this. If anyones a paint expert and can tell me what to do so this doesnt happen, please let me know.

Check the can and see if its a water based or a solvent based product. Too read the cans and look and see what they say about moisture. Most clear coat applications will turn milky in the presence of too much moisture.

-Really thats the only thing that I can think of why it would do that. I've had guys come into my store and say that the clear coat I sold them was bad, when they just applied it in the presence of too much moisture in the air

The product reacts with the moisture and gives it that milky look to it.

Sounds stupid but did you spray them inside or outside, If you did it outside its probably from the air being humid

The only replacement for displacement is technology and engineering

I sprayed it outside, and i think the humidity was a balmy 85%, but i had no idea it would mess it up this bad :(. I think what I'll do is wet sand the bubbles out, and then look at the weather.com site to figure out when its low humidity. I just cant believe i need to set a date to just spray my calipers haha

Yea man its like I said its usually moisture that messes the product up like that. I might give it a few days to see if the milky ness goes away or not

Somtimes if you just give the moisture time to work its way out, it'll clear up on its own, So keep them inside while you wait for the weather to get better

-Just noticed that you were in VA, yea I'm in AL right now and I would not recommend painting outside right now in all the humidity thats going on. What you could possibly do is spray them real quick, and then bring them inside, but I would do this is a last resort as the change in temp and humidity might mess with the clear coat even more

Good luck with everything

Could be humidity or when I made my carbon TR spoiler for my last teg I let too much time pass between coats of paint and it did a similar thing.

yeh, well i would say I would wait, but I know it wont clear up because it has all those bubbles that physically stick up out of the paint, its bumpy, kinda sucks. My freind has an air conditions garage, so i might do it there. I hate humidity!
