This is an easy mod that makes a big difference. At least it does to me. I'm currently on my stock Michelins (YUCK!) because I wiped out my tires on my 16's due to poor alignment. Anyways, the car has been really shifty, so I decided to try to work on the aero a little. This is a $10 HDP mod. (Home Depot Performance) What you'll need...

8 self tapping 3/4" long screws

Either a Dremel or sheet metal snips. (Or even a hacksaw.)

1" x 1" x 8 ft "L" shaped lightweight aluminum beam from the Home Depot "garage door" section. It should look like the one below...

You'll be doing 3 snips, all along one edge so that the other edge can bend, in order to create 4 connected sections. You'll kinda make an arrow pointing towards the front of the car, in order to deflect air from going underneath. Use the self tapping screws to secure that puppy on there really well...

Front View

Bottom Views

I gave the car a few runs going on the freeway on curvy onramps and getting off the freeway on curvy offramps. Works great. It makes a noticeable difference to me, especially on my weak stock tires.

That's cool.
No more, that speedbump messed up my car.
The city will be like, that car messed up that speedbump.

One question from my Mercedes-Benz Test:
"What is the primary benefit of a manual transmission?"
One of the answer choices:
"The driver has an extra pedal to stomp when frustrated."

Er, actually, you really don't want to be nailing speedbumps with a soft lightweight aluminum chin spoiler. Doesn't do anything to help your aero if it's all bent up too...

Very nice neo, not highly noticable and yet clean and functional!

Much better idea than the other home depot front lip, made of garden edging. Which serves a simmilar purpose, but can't look very good.

And thanks for posting those links... People still think I'm full of it when I say that my Type-R wing is functional. Now I know where to point them.

Neo-my Gen2 has bolt holes along the bottom of the bumper that Are ASKING for use. I am going to take one straight 2" aluminum piece, bend it to the curve, several angled brackets, JB weld and the Cheap lawn and garden plastic. It'll be sweet!

No sweat, man. Most people have no idea how the smallest changes affect aerodynamics.

What do you need all that stuff for? A few screws will do the job.

WOW!!! Neo, that's a great idea! I'll have something to do this weekend other than rip more apart on the C1 in my garage.

Where did you attach the edges of the aluminum to the body?
