I have searched and didnt find anything on how to put a gauge where the cruise control button is, so i made one.

Tools:
screw driver
dremel
19mm socket optional

1st i took off my steering wheel to make it easyier to use the dremel.

2nd take out the trim ring around the guage cluster

3rd pull out the cruise control button their is one tab on the top of the button to push down then unplug the conecter.

4th take off the bottom pannel under the dash so you can run your wires

5th start to dremel out the hole to make the gauge of your choice fit. i put in a 60mm air/fuel gauge. it takes alot of test fitting and gets plasitc every where.

6th put in the gauge and wire it up

7th now put every thing back together.

So, hows it held in? Is it just so snug that it's stuck in or what? Nice write up BTW.

thanks, mine is just stuck in their. you could trim away some more and use the black backing that the gauge comes with but i was running short on time so i left mine like that it took alot to push it back out once it was in their.

Nice work!

I thought about using that and the dimmer spot for my gauges, but in the end decided that they were too hard to see and/or at a weird angle (i.e. not facing my eyes).

Not to mention I use those switches for their intended purpose and didn't want to relocate them!

If it doesn't work, hit it.
If it still doesn't work, get a bigger hammer.
If it breaks, it needed replacing anyways.

Nice DIY! I like this, but like Drcheap said, it's not very visible. And when you need to see what that gauge is doing, you don't have the time to look down and over to see what it says.

I'm going to post a DIY soon when I start my fiberglass project. I'm doing a gauge pod where the clock is for two gauges.

My VTEC screams in the silence of the night.

well alot of how visible the gauge is depends on how you sit and how the tilt on the steering wheel is. heres mine.

Great write up bro! I've been looking for ideas on where to put a pair of gauges for quite a while now and this is my first time seeing this option! I had thought about putting in the clock surround bezel but not sure if i'll be able to see my stock fuel/temp clocks! You've just woken up the hamster in my head!

lol i had done this also with my boost gauge about a year ago except replacing the dimmer switch.. i just used a drill with a 2" hole saw bit and the gauge fit nice and snug in there. and i mean REALLY snug... although i didnt take as many steps as you did. and its exactly how you see it with a stock steering wheel 2 incase anyone was wondering
