Double Wishbone vs. MacPherson Strut I:The Basics

Posted 12-07-2002 at 12:00 AM by MichaelDelaney

PREFACE

The following article was written by Bampf many years back in my old Integra Forum Tech Archive Stickies, when I was a mod on another Honda board. It was such a good article that having found it again while purging my hard drive, I thought that it should go back up to educate people here regarding the Gen. 4 Integra's (RSX's) MacPherson strut suspension compared to the Gen. Integras' Double Wishbone suspension. My thanks goes to Bampf once again for investing his own time...

Double Wishbone vs. MacPherson Strut3: 2nd Opinion

Posted 12-07-2002 at 12:00 AM by MichaelDelaney

PREFACE

Here is the debate. In Parts 1 and 2 of this series, Bampf presented the basics and the advantage differences between the 2 types. To generate provocative but civil discussions between members (but not a flame war between RSX owners and Gen 2 or 3 Integra owners please!!!), I'll now add a second opinion from my friend texan who is a knowledgeable fellow moderator I've known, since my previous mod days on another Honda board and from the Endyn BBS. Again, I am not the author...

LSA = [ C/L in + C/L ex ] / 2

where C/L = Lobe Centerline, in = intake, ex = exhaust

II. Individual Lobe Centerlines

C/L in = [INTAKE CAM DURATION @ 1mm lift /2 ] - INTAKE LOBE OPENING SPEC BTDC

Individual Throttle Body Dimensions

Posted 10-16-2002 at 12:00 AM by MichaelDelaney

quoted from from www.jenvey.co.uk FAQ (who sells a Honda Bseries specific ITB)

A. What is the best throttle body diameter?

Factors influencing size are: Power output, rpm, cylinder head design, cylinder capacity, position of the throttle body in the inlet tract and position of the injector.

Choice of bore size is a balanced compromise resulting from the following:

1) A larger bore leads to lower flow resistance, but obeying the laws...
