Anyone know what Tony the Tiger's car runs in the 1/4 mile....i just made a post on a newb's thread lecturing about going all motor for a high goal (13 sec GSR)....i made a point to say how awesome it is when people do accomplish it, and the only person i know is Tony the Tiger....but that got me thinking, i only know his HP numbers, not his 1/4 mle times...last i heard he was at 219whp....dont know if that is good enough to hit mid 13's or not....anyone know anything else about his beast?

I'm not sure but I think that hp # was on his old setup. I read somewhere now he running a block bored out to 2.0L? Anyone want to verify this?

Tony The Tiger's Homepage
Tony is running a bored out 2.0L. His car is fast. From what I heard, I think he's pushing about 230-something to the wheels.

I'd like to know what Tony and MD run. But thats what makes their cars so great. We know they have great power numbers and insane setups, but we can only imagine what they really have.
Im sure there is a bunch of GSR's that have ran a 13 second 1/4 with an all motor setup. Im hoping ill hit high 13's on street tires on the 26th. And my setup im sure isn't even close to what MD and Tony have. They may be tampering with 12's, with slicks or possibly even street tires. But who knows....and thats what makes it fun.

I meant Tony....and yes I do...hp don't mean sh*t man...it's how you put it to the ground and how big the powerband is...As a matter of fact, I remember a video with Tony in it and he ran a 12 something.

Yeah
Heard the story where Tony embarassed a guy in a BMW M5? I thought it was HILARIOUS! "How much did that M5 cost you??" Anyway, I've been on his website a couple times, and man...his FORMER setup is sick! When I asked him what kind of HP numbers he was putting down with his 2.0L setup, he said it was likely 245ish...with the potential for another 10 or so with the ITBs. And he hasn't decided whether or not to go that route on that newer engine. With the experience he and Tuan have, you can BET the powerband on that bad-boy is WIDE and FAT! I'm sure it just goes up and keeps level (or keeps climbing) until it hits his redline. |

right, HP doesn't mean anything, it's about traction, conditions, etc like someone else said. I am almost positive his setup can hit mid-low 12's on slicks, i mean look at his flat torque curve from his old set up alone, just imagine what it'd be with a 2.0L

I don't know what his suspension setup is but if he has it set up for a full out drag monster I bet he is hitting 11s
