I just installed a 98+ front end on my car and the first time I laid eyes on it when it was on I loved it!! until I had to put on my front license plate.

I want to see (if you have pics) other places you put the plate that is legal so it doesnt ruin the look of the front end

i've got a pretty slick place...i used double sided tape and 2 rubber bands to mount my plate to the other side of my passenger side sun visor. it works pretty well because i can flip it down when driving in areas with lots of cops, or flip it up to keep it out of the way. it actually looks pretty cool...ill take a pic of it tmrw and post it

I'm from NY, probably the strictest cops in the US (maybe Cali has us beat, but I doubt it). They haven't busted my nuts at all about it (knock on wood).

It is COMPLETELY visible if you look at it from the front (which is how the cops look at it). Give it a try. If they pull you over for it, they'll probably let you go for the 'good effort' or just tell them you've been pulled over with it like that before and have never had a problem.

I have never had a front plate...and never been hassled. In Illinois, a cop can't pull you over for very minor violations like that; if you get pulled over for speeding, for example, they can tack that on.

I would be careful hiding it behind grilles, some states' laws make it illegal to obstruct the plate.

A lot of states require front plates so the cops have something to aim their laser or radar guns at, truth be told.

GSRstilez: Where did you get those plugs to plug up the holes where the front license plate used to go?

white4drTeg,

I know for Saskatchewan, it must be mounted on the front bumper and clearly visible! We can't have ours in the window or anything. But they just revoked that law, so effective Aug 1st we don't need front plates anymore!!!

By the way does anyone know if there's any of them metal "TI" things to put where our front bumper holes are left?

What good is an ICEBOX if you have to change the ice every 30 mins or 50km ???

i just have mine on the front dash. my friends are always saying that you could get a ticket for it, but i've been pulled over and even when the cop came when my car was broken into, he just moved it to get the vin and put it back.

I may not be the sharpest tool in the shed... but I can still cut you.

TheGSRGuy is right about the obstruction thing. However, a license plate frame is considered an obstruction. It's kind of a gray area. If you are polite and a good talker, you should be fine.

prowler220x: You can pick them up at the Acura dealership.
