1984 Dodge Daytona turbo 4 lug wheels on my Teg! I lifted this from a posting that went a little off topic in a happy way. There seemed to be some interest so I am posting it here. These wheels definitely fit the Tegs stock! They are 15" rims. They are manufactured by Rockwell International for Chrysler Corp. That was stamped inside the rim. I used the stock wheel lug nuts, and I think they make 5 to 6 full turns (shallower attachment depth than the stock ugly 'steelies' with garish plastic wheels covers I nixed). I fit them with 205 50 R15 tires.
Also, these wheels could be shared by the late 80s vintage dodge Omni GLH turbos. In fact, these rims could be off that car, but I like to think they are that 1984 Daytona year they ran them (I like the Daytona Turbo Z's now in a retro way). I pulled 5 matching rims out of the dump as I was paying to dump off old tires in this dump's tire / wheel collection container - cleaning up a family nightmare home. I talked to the dump guy there, and said I spotted some nice looking 4 lug rims (rare) and could I take them? He said Sure! but if I brought them back he'd charge me $5 a wheel to dump again. That was a risk I was willing to take and pretty psyched I did! These rims are hard to find and not cheap to replace. Someone should not have tossed them! I actually drove the least horrible tire treaded rims straight out of the dump cross country to CA, and then back again 5 years later. The treads were totally shot, near slicks, with heavily cracked sidewalls from age (who knows hold old the rubber actually was). They totally separated, and the tires almost blew apart on my second X country trip, coincidentally, in South Bend, IN, which I recognized as Tire Rack's HQ, so I gingerly drove the car 3 miles to them and had them mount up 2 new Kumho Ecsta Tires 205 50 R15 which was the closest match to the rears (older Kumho). You could say I've been frugal with this car. Close up pic of wheel. This one's center cap is not there, but on the other 4 rims it's in place. I should replace that one. Here's some data I mined online about 'em. 1984 Dodge Daytona 15" x 6" Alloy Wheel Description: 15" x 6" Alloy Wheel AS CAST; 40 HOLE ----------- Turbo model. When the "Maximum Performance" package was ordered, the Daytona was delivered with 225/50VR-15 Goodyear Gatorback tires. The "Swiss Cheese" wheels were available only in 1984 with four lugs and shod with P195/60-15 tires. In 1985, these were replaced with the five-lug "pizza" wheels and had larger P205/60-15 tires. ----------- 84-86 DAYTONA H 1391 15x6 40 Hole 4x100 Bolt Pattern MACHINED Last edited by rjteg; 07-29-2012 at 11:22 AM.
