Unhappy Sandblasted valve train cover problem

Hi,
i may be screwed here. Today i bead blasted my valve train cover. I sealed it fairly well but anyone with any experience with this will know that it gets EVERYWHERE.
Problem being there was still a small amount of oil still left on the interior. Not very much but enough to gum up a tad. I Have been washing it for like 30 minutes and used brake cleaner and it is kindof coming off but there are some parts that i cant get to with the hose. WHAT DO I DO?! If that shit get in my engine i am double screwed. Help? we are soaking it in a soap solution. help...

Could you maybe soak it in acetone or like paint thinner?

Why not try a can of GUNK engine cleaner/de-greaser? Less than $5 bucks a can. Oil and grease melt right off of anything they are attached to with that stuff.

simple green worked wonders on mine when I sandblasted and painted it. I just sprayed it on and let it sit for a few seconds and it came right off. best part it simple green is bio-degradable and easy to rinse off.

I used brake cleaner and degreaser and there was still sand and shit in the pcv valve and in the deep nooks and crannies. We ended up soaking it over night in a ton of soap water and then power washed it. worked like a charm

I was told to never sandblast/bead blast valve covers. You'll never get all the sand/beads out.
I degreased mine first then I just used aircraft stripper to get all the old paint off. Then just rinse with water.

I let mine take a hot bath three times. When you pull it out you can see everything that came out. Just keep letting it soak till no more gunk is visible.

You need to blast it with compressed air too. Sand gets sticky when wet...so its not really just going to come off with just cleaners...
