Excellent, will do! Maybe I can make some of my money back on this stuff.
My next big purchase has been made. I picked up a very nice set of Mitutoyo dial bore gages on ebay. It was a steal for the price so I couldn't resist. $600.00 later I have these: ![]() Last few items on my tool to buy list are: Set of rubber mallets Bolt stretch gauge Tap and die set Then I should be ready to get this thing back together. I still have not had a chance to tear the rest of it apart as my thesis writing has been eating up all my time, but it will happen soon. Mike |

Well not much else has been done with the engine. I recieved my set of dial bore gages and they are in great condition and a complete set! It was definitely expensive, but well worth it for the quality. Tonight I plan on tearing down the rest of the engine so I will have some pictures up of that.
Steve, as far as my plans go I certainly hope to have it all done, but its going to be very dependent on graduating. My plan currently is to graduate sometime in June then taking the whole summer off from everything so thats when the work will get done. After 7 years of school with no summer breaks I need something. Its tough to say at this point, but I'm going to keep shooting for those goals. Mike |

I have a stretch gauge you can borrow. I also have piston ring compressors on the site too. But, if you want to buy them regardless, that's totally up to you.
Cheers and good luck. I hope to see this car at Expo or another event again (and of course, the Dragon!) |

I'll most likely be renting the stretch gauge when the time comes.
Tonight I spent some time disassembling the head and pulling the last few components off the block. The block is now ready to be hot tanked and the head has a few more things left. I need to pick up a valve stem seal remover to pull those. Also still need to remove the rockers. ![]() ![]() The valve guide appears to be broken... not sure if this will affect anything or not, anyone know? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Mike |

I may look into getting 4 egt's for when it goes back together.... Just a thought at this point, but I would love to tune timing off of egt's. Mike |
